Turkey and bacon sliders with ‘Isn’t that special sauce’ have crispy bacon, slices of turkey, melted mozzarella cheese, and a creamy sauce. The perfect oven baked slider recipe for any night of the week.
Sliders have been a huge hit in my house since I started making them about a year ago. In the summer they pair well with chips and other cold side dishes. In the winter they are perfect for dipping into soups. They are also big on flavor when you hit the right combination.

- Turkey and Bacon Sliders {with Isn’t That Special Sauce}
Sure you can make these sliders just plain or maybe add some boring mayonnaise on them but WHY would you when you can add some ‘Isn’t That Special’ Sauce?
While this is similar to the pickle & vinegar-based sauce we all know and love, I really wanted to set mine apart with a unique name. So I am paying homage to a show that I have loved since my early teens, Saturday Night Live.
You know that question, “Who are the 3 people you would invite to dinner?”
I could easily answer that and everyone at the table would be a former cast member of SNL. I am a super Tina Fey Fan Girl. Will Ferrell in my eyes is the hottest guy in Hollywood. And Steve Martin is a genius. Who would you invite to dinner?
What beer pairs well with mini sandwiches loaded with turkey and crispy bacon?
The beer: Super Fuzz from Elysian
These turkey sliders on Hawaiian rolls pair perfectly with some barbecue chips and a cold beer. If a beer states it has blood orange in it, I am in. No matter what. This pale ale has the perfect citrus combo that goes very well with the sauce that is slathered on these sandwiches.
Ingredients
These turkey sliders have-
- Hawaiian slider rolls. This makes the dish slightly sweet, but you can swap it out for butter or brioche slider buns.
- Sliced deli turkey. I used traditional roasted sliced turkey but there are also different types of flavored sliced turkey that can be swapped out. Ask your deli if they have flavors available like Cajun, barbecue, or smoked.
- Cooked, crispy bacon. It’s important to cook the bacon before adding it to the sandwiches.
- Shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Melted butter with garlic powder. Adds another layer of flavor when these are baked.
- A mayo-based sandwich spread called ‘Isn’t that special sauce‘ made with ketchup, relish, apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, and garlic powder

Yes! I want some of that sauce!! Looks great!
The sauce is one of my favorites.
Gotta love any recipe with bacon, right!?
Yes! For sure.
1) I’ve never thought of sliders as soup dippers – wonderful idea.
2) Cooking these babies in the oven is so smart! Less mess and less time.
We love to dip them in a cheddar veggie soup. Which is literally just the winter fancy mix from Costco that I add to a few cups of chicken broth and about a 1/2 cup of cheese. A very simple, quick and kid friendly.
