What beer pairs well with double deluxe tacos?
The beer: Hazy Wonder by Lagunitas.
I know it sounds trendy, but I’m all about the hazy IPA’s. They are light while still being hoppy. The perfect beer to dip your toes into when you have worked your way through blonde ales and want to try something new.
What TV show pairs well with tacos?
Then for this Mitten Movie Night, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is back, so we must binge!! Sadly this is the first half of the last season of this adorable show. If you are a fan of The Office, Parks & Recreation, or 30 Rock, I think you will love this show too.
Ingredients
These double stacked tacos have-
- Both hard shells and soft flour tortillas
- Traditional refried beans
- Ground beef
- A sauce made with beef broth, tomato bouillon, cumin, and chili powder
- Shredded cheese
- Lettuce, tomato, and sour cream for serving
How to make double deluxe tacos step-by-step
Start by browning the pound of ground hamburger. Cook through until no longer pink, around 8-10 minutes. Drain the grease from the pan.
To the beef, add the water, beef base, tomato bouillon, cumin, and chili powder. Cook over medium heat until the bouillon has dissolved and the sauce is reduced, which just takes about 4 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and grease an 8″x11″ pan.
With a knife spread about 2 Tbs of refried beans over the flour tortilla shells.
Place a hard shell in the center of the flour tortilla.
Gently press the flour tortilla around the hard shell. *Make sure to press very gently so that you don’t break the shell.
Place the shells into a baking dish that has been sprayed with oil.
Now, fill the taco shells with the ground beef mixture. *I found that 9 was the perfect amount for the beans and meat ratio.
Once all the tacos are assembled, top them off with cheese then put them into the oven to bake for 15 minutes.
Chop up some lettuce, tomatoes, and any other toppings you like. Open up some sour cream to top off these double deluxe tacos.
Tips & Variations
- If you don’t have tomato boullion, you can swap out for 2 teaspoons of tomato paste.
