These brat burgers are topped with a simple sauce and beer-braised onions. Serve with your favorite Oktoberfest beer.
1 pound ground pork 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon paprika 1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon olive oil 4 slices cheese 4 brioche burger buns 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard 3 tablespoons mayonnaise 1 medium onion 1/2 tablespoon butter 1/2 cup wheat beer
Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Mix the meat with spices. Add oil & heat pan, smash burgers down with 2 spatulas.
Cook the burgers
Cover the pan and cook burger on each side 5 minutes. add cheese & melt.
Sautee the onions in butter then add the beer. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Mix the sauce
Stir the sauce ingredients together in a bowl.
Add the patties to the buns and top with onions and sauce.
