This savory sausage pudding, or toad in a hole, is a classic English dish made with sausage cooked in a bread pudding.
2/3 cup all-purpose flour 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt 1 cup milk 2 eggs 18 ounces of beer brats 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 medium yellow onion sliced thinly 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour 1-1/2 cup beef broth 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce 1 tablespoon whole grain mustard
Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 45 minutes
Mix the eggs and milk together, pour into a bowl with flour and salt. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Brown the sausages
Brown the sausages. Add to a greased baking dish with the batter added to it. Bake at 375-degrees for 45 minutes.
Sautee the onions and add the rest of the ingredients. Simmer until thickened.
Serve
Add a slice of the pudding with a sausage to a plate. Serve with the gravy. Enjoy!
