Michigan Hot Dogs

When cooking the ground beef add the spices before cooking the beef. I do this because when the burger cooks, it sets the spices right into the meat. It’s my favorite way to cook beef.

Tips for seasoning ground beef:

A Michigan hot dog features a meaty, beanless chili that is ladled on top of all-beef hot dog.

Cook the hot dogs according to package directions.

For the chili: Add beef, onions, and the spices right on the top. Cook thoroughly.

Once the beef is cooked, add the tomato sauce, vinegar, and ketchup to the pan. Stir and put on a medium simmer  for 5 minutes.

Assemble the hot dogs by adding chili to the top.

Then add yellow mustard and the rest of the raw onion on top.
