Cheesy Pierogi Casserole

Use this ham and cheese sauce in all kinds of recipes.

The sauce for this casserole can be used in macaroni and cheese or on top of baked chicken.

Ingredients for pierogi casserole

2 boxes Mrs. T’s Classic Pierogies Cooked according to package directions 8 ounces diced ham 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese halved 4 Tbs butter 2 Tbs flour 1 cup whole milk black pepper to taste

This easy pierogi casserole has potato-filled dumplings coated with a diced ham and cheese sauce then baked.

Boil the pierogi & sauté the ham

Boil the pierogi for 8-10 minutes.  In a pan, melt the butter and sauté the diced ham.

Add the flour

Add 2 tablespoons of flour and stir it together.

Thicken the sauce & add cheese

Add 1 cup of milk, then let simmer. Add the cheese then let thicken for 3 minutes.

Add the pierogi to cheese sauce

Combine the cooked and drained pierogi to the ham and cheese sauce.

Add to a baking dish

Add to a 9×13 greased baking dish. Top with remaining cheese.
