Hot Cocoa and Baked Toasts

Have you ever dipped your toast in hot chocolate?

This is a combination that I have eaten since I was a kid. The sweetness in the cocoa and the slightly melted marshmallows go so well with crispy buttered toast.

Homemade Hot Cocoa and Buttered Toasts

4 cups whole milk 1/3 cup white sugar 3 tablespoons cocoa powder 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup miniature marshmallows 6 slices French bread 2 tablespoons butter slightly melted

Cocoa and Buttered Toasts

Stovetop hot cocoa is the perfect treat to dip buttered French bread slices into. A great wintertime drink and snack combination.

Butter 6 slices of French bread on each side. Bake at 375 degrees for 6 min, flip halfway through.

In a medium pot, stir together the cocoa and sugar.

Add the milk & vanilla. Simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes.

Pour the hot cocoa into two mugs.

Top with miniature marshmallows.

Take the toast out of the oven.

Serve the hot chocolate with the toast for dipping.
